I have to say thank you to my friend Jason for turning me on to these guys. I was a bit skeptical at first because the vocals vaguely reminded me of the Tragically Hip, but I was tragically wrong after listening to them for a bit while hanging around the house with Clint. They have great dark catchy tunes with wicked bass lines. I’m really hooked! Give them a listen if you get the chance. My favourite track right now is “the new” off of “Turn on the bright lights”. I also like “Evil” which is on the album”Antics”.

I’ve been nothing but lazy this week which is really too bad because we’ve had some beautiful weather. I told myself today would be different but I only just got up about 15 minutes ago. Oops. Anyway, I’m going to shower and do some shopping and pick up tickets to the Modest Mouse show tonight! Yay! Clint finally came to his senses and agreed to go with me.

This is for all the Brit pop fans out there. One of my all time favourite albums is the very first Suede album ever released in 1993. The main reason I liked them was due to Bernard Butler’s guitar playing and song writing. I know he stayed on until Dog Man Star was released and then shortly after left Suede and worked on his own solo stuff. (You can read all this on his website here…) I stopped listening to Suede at that point and I enjoyed the stuff Bernard put out on his own but I still love the fist Suede album. Then I stumbled upon a bit of news the other day that Bernard and Brett Anderson (the lead singer from Suede) are back together and are going to give it another go under the new name “the Tears”. I can’t wait to hear it as I think they were a fabulous song writing duo. If you want to know more check out this article.Their new album is due out in Spring this year! I can’t wait!
