This is what I’ve been doing all weekend.

So it’s now midday Sunday and I am sitting here in my sweatpants trying desperately to level up my character in World of Warcraft. I haven’t showered in 2 days, my stomach is grumbling from lack of food and my house is still a disaster. My husband told me he’s leaving the house to get a coffee and I just grunted at him and continued to play. I guess that would tell anyone that a) I need help and b) This game is really good.

The view from our suite.

Our 1st anniversary was September 13 and we decided to go to Tofino for a few days to relax, celebrate and enjoy each others company. Tofino is a little town on the west side of Vancouver Island and I recommend everyone go there at least once. It’s some of the most breathtaking scenery I’ve ever seen in my life, but it is a bit of a resort town so things can be a bit expensive. If you are the camping type, then making it a cheap trip shouldn’t be a problem. There is a lot to do; hiking, surfing, kayaking, whale watching, and plenty of sightseeing. There are fancy hotels with fine dining. We went to a five star restaurant called The Pointe for the evening of our anniversary. It was very memorable. I felt like I was eating art! The food was beautiful and so well thought out, the service was amazing. They had a different wine that accompanied every dish. I was in heaven! Besides the wining and dining I would like to share with you a few photos we took.

Okay, the big work Christmas party is next month and I decided to pick tonight to freak out about what I’m going to wear. Clint is just trying to be nice and says I look lovely in everything, but somehow I don’t believe him. So now I’m going to test you guys and see if anyone is actually reading this thing. I’m posting a picture (click more to see it) of me in the outfit I plan to wear. Keep in mind I will have a funky hairdo to match. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. What I’m wondering is… should I wear different shoes?… anyway… excuse my fit of vanity and just look at the pic…

My birthday is fast approaching and every year we go out for dinner to the restaurant of my choice. And every year I always seem to choose the Kobe Japanese Steak House. It’s a little on the expensive side but worth every penny which is why it is reserved for special occasions such as my birthday. The food and atmosphere are great! The show gets a little old after you’ve seen it a few times but it’s definitely worth going at least once. Last time we sat with some Americans and they asked the chef what he used for the onion volcano and he said “gasoline”. I guess you had to be there but it was pretty funny. Anyway, you are usually seated 8 people per grill so if you have a smaller party sometimes you get to hang out with strangers which makes it more interesting. Especially if everyone is drunk.

I finally received my text book and lesson plan in the mail a couple of days ago. I am now officially a CGA student. My first assignment isn’t due until December 14, but being the keener that I am I’ve cracked the text book early. My first course is Economics.

meet my new friend Sheazen

My friend G recently gave birth to this little bundle of cuteness. It was amazing to meet him on his first day of life. I don’t have much experience with babies, and quite frankly, I was pretty much afraid of them. But after meeting this little guy it makes me think that I just might be able to handle being a mom someday.

I have to say a big thank you to NM for sending these lovely flowers! It has made me the envy of the office and brightened my spirits regarding my up coming birthday. My husband’s birthday is the day before mine and he’s turning 30 so I was feeling like my birthday would be taken over by his and somehow forgotten. Then I realized I have great friends who don’t forget me so easily… ^__^ so I’ll quit my whining.

Ok, so here’s an official post. This thing is still under construction while I try and figure out php and remember my css lessons. Please excuse all the little layout problems and hopefully I will get them fixed soon.

Today was the western division finals for football and the BC Lions won!! There was a lot of clapping and cheering in my living room while I plugged away at this site. Clint is now making me feel guilty for unintentionally snubbing our guests. Unfortunately, there is only so much time for me to work on this thing since I will be starting school soon, and lets face it, watching football is not how I wanted to spend my Sunday afternoon.

So Brady and Kate, I apologize if I offended you by working on my site when I should have been hanging out and drinking beers!
