Jeekers says “Meow”.

Christmas is now over and the dust has settled, so I thought I should do a “year end” post to reflect on the events of 2004.

There were a lot of big changes this year. Clint finally got his job at EA and I started my job higher up to cover a maternity leave. The increase in income allowed us to upgrade to a new apartment downtown and finally get on top of some of our debt. We had a new addition to the family back in March when we got our second kitten, Cobol. We celebrated our first year of marriage in September and Clint turned 30 this year! (I turned 27 so I still have 3 years until I hit the big 30 ) I also started school again taking a course part time while I work. My work was generous enough to offer their support to me which made it possible for me to go back.

We have been very blessed this year. I’m very thankful for all of these things and the support of our family and friends. I see a bright future for us in 2005.

So Happy New Year everyone!!! The next post will be in 2005! woo hoo!

Last night was the big EA christmas bash. It was a very impressive and well organized event considering how many people attended. The food was well done and the decor was interesting and cool. The people were great and it was a lot of fun, but we had to cut it short to meet up with our friends at the Lamplighter to catch the Canned Hamm show…

This is our first Christmas in our new place. I attempted to make a little christmas display out of all the hand-me-down decorations I received from my mom. I know it looks kind of pathetic and the tree has seen better days but it’s nice to have a little something to brighten things up and remind us that Christmas is around the corner. Luckily the cats have stayed away from it (knock on wood) because I don’t think the tree is going to last much longer… I had to get a new set of lights for it because the old ones burnt out within half an hour of me turning them on and one of them actually melted and stuck to part of the tree… I guess I’m lucky the thing didn’t catch on fire. Anyway, there are no presents for me under it as of yet… But hopefully I have been a good girl and there will be lots of presents for me on Christmas day! ^__^

The big work Christmas party was last night. I’m feeling a little bruised and hung over this morning but it was a good night. Everyone looked great and was in good spirits. I didn’t take a whole lot of pictures due to the fact I was partying so hard. I danced like a maniac and drank until my speech was slurred and everyone was my best friend. It was nice to see everyone together again. It was also nice to know there were others WAY more trashed than I was, so hopefully there will be a few good stories in the office on Monday. We were of course the last table (yet again) so by the time we got called up to eat, some of the food was cold. At least there was enough food left this time.

So today will be spent eating greasy food and lying about until the pain subsides. I seem to have sprained a finger somehow and a couple of my toes are numb, but everything is still intact.

I’ll be heading out to see my parents later today. It’s my Dad’s birthday tomorrow.

Clint has been trying to set up a backgammon league between friends as an excuse to hang out and interact with people we don’t get to see very often. I will be keeping track of each match through this site with scores and highlights as well as pictures and everyone can log in and trash talk to their hearts content… There will be an official post on this in the next few days so stay tuned…

I actually went to the dentist today. It was the first time in well over 5 years. I did surprisingly well aside from the fact that I need a few fillings replaced, there is no decay. I do however have a problem with clenching and grinding my teeth so I will have to get a mouth guard to wear while I sleep. The part that’s disturbing is I’m actually wearing out my jaw joints! They are no longer rounded and are flat on one side. He said if it gets any worse I can expect to have problems with my jaw locking up when I’m older… ugh, just what I needed… more joint problems.

I just got back from a “networking” party at Next Level Games a few blocks away in Yaletown. Clint’s friend Kris invited us to come and check it out. It’s nice to know that he has made some good connections and I really like all the new people he has met so far.
