Take your paper and shove it…

Unfortunately, I do like this logo.
I’ve been getting really pissed off lately because on my walk to work every morning I’m bombarded by people waving “free” newspapers in my face. I’ve had to say “no thanks” about a million times in the past couple weeks thanks to these people. Maybe it’s the Finnish in me, but I’d like to enjoy my walk to work with out having to have any sort of interaction with another human being aside from barging past them. So this morning I made an effort to find a new route where there were none of these clowns, but to no avail. So I wondered, why are they trying so hard to force this crap on us? And this is what I found;
“Last week’s unveiling of Dose, CanWest Global Communications Corp.’s daily magazine, is the latest attempt by a publishing firm to grab the eyeballs of elusive 18- to 34-year-old readers. This demographic group has become a crucial target for newspapers, not only because it has been drifting away from traditional print media, but because of its huge disposable income and growing economic clout.”
You can read the entire article here.
Hmm… I don’t think I like being a target market. Can someone please make it stop?
